To Lord Caenu, Emissary of the Obsidian Thrones for the Southern Raiding Fleet, Herald of the Golden Dawn Slavers, Liluth Araran, Beastmaster appointed for the expendable herds, sends her greetings.
My Lord, after several weeks I can finally send the first report on the forces we’re gathering as our destructive instruments.
Of the five goblin translators I obtained on my departure, two are already dead. One was killed when an Equitan patrol discovered us on our way to the orc camp. The (...)

A Lecture on the Cosmos
Our world is a fragile thing, a perfect pearl in a pounding sea. It is a miracle that the elements necessary for its creation aligned, and in the calm between opposing tides, our island of existence formed.
The Coatl teach of the power of Cosmos, worshipping their prime qualities of order and structure above all others. Yet a world without change is a world frozen, doomed to an entropy which would eventually stifle life itself.
Worshippers of the Dark Gods take chaos and chance as their (...) -
A Mystery from the Dawn of Time
Of all the mysterious beasts that plague this world, the Saurians are surely the most poorly understood. Reptiles of varying size that walk like men, they are encountered commonly enough that their existence is beyond doubt, but their true nature and objectives continue to escape our knowledge. Of special interest is their possible connection to ancient myths of reptilian demigods or daemons who supposedly subjugated all peoples in a global empire of oppression.
Long study of the many (...) -
Carving from a Stone Idol
This is a stone
It does not know the truth
Let these words teach it our way
Our way is war
We are born only to this
A stone is born for staying
But we will set it rolling
And in the speed o f life, it will learn
It will know the way
Of war, of speed, of sweat
We love to struggle and to win
We want this stone to love it too
We will give this stone a brood
And set it searching
And it will know the way of (...) -
Concerning Nyb and Nabh
Q: Are the elven gods Nyb and Nabh one and the same?
A: It seems some of my readers wish to see me struck with divine wrath, debating matters of the Gods! An elven expert might be needed to give a definitive answer to such a question - presuming such an expert could be found and persuaded to divulge their knowledge. For my own part, I see Nyb and Nabh used by different elven cultures, for deities of a similar nature. Are they the same god in different forms, or different gods adopting a (...) -
Dating of the Sunna Cycle
Q: When was the Sunna Cycle put together?
A: Well, it’s not easy to be precise. Such works are rarely the work of a single individual, nor even a single lifetime. Collected from the verbal records passed down in story and myth, the Cycle unites the histories of those tribes which came together to form what is now Sonnstahl. The earliest versions were likely collated centuries after Sunna’s day, and your guess as to their accuracy is likely as good as mine. Those versions which are shared now (...) -
Dwarven Religion
So it is that our souls on death cross the Veil, to be claimed by our gods and find an eternal home in the strongholds of the human deities, or the fey realms of elven gods. There we rest, and lend our strength to the Immortal beings we served in life. A chosen few, some say, greatest of soul and spirit, may be chosen to be born again into this Mortal Realm, to champion their god once more. For ordinary mortals, the most we can hope is to serve well and earn the protection of the gods. The (...)

Hierarchy of the Church of Sunna
Q: What is the highest position in the Church of Sunna and who holds it today?
A: The Supreme Prelate holds the highest office in Sunna’s religion. Previously the office holder would be resident within Sonnstahl, at the cathedral or the city in most favour at that moment. However, that changed some decades back, and the current Supreme Prelate resides in the city of Reva in Arcalea. These lands are now held by the Church, largely independent of either nation. It would be a mistake to assume (...) -
How can they not see? The Gods, mere Man, the...
How can they not see? The Gods, mere Man, the struggles of the petty Nations! Nought but children squabbling in the face of the tide that rushes to drown them all! How could they be so blind? Blind to the war that rages all around them, blind to the Eternal Crusade waged since the dawn of time when ragged mortality first tore itself bloodied from the womb and, defiant, screamed at the heedless cosmos! Can they not perceive it in the lowliest germs that sprout their crops, in the swarms of (...)

I am the Law
Holy caws beckon and I answer the call,
For I am the scales that weighs the world,
My weapon is the gift of justice,
My strike the caress of judgement.
I am the instrument of the Queen of Blades,
The crimson crow she sets upon the wicked,
From the hearth of home to the hells beyond,
I shall not waver, I shall not relent!
For I am the prophet of peace,
The right hand of righteous death,
The anointed executioner of Nabh,
Tremble and despair malefactors.
For I am the (...)
